From recycled silicone buttons to deconstructed aprons, santmercat is a collection distilled from a craft passed on by generations: salted-cod.

A FW collection by Anna Masclans that develops functional and versatile garments through a sustainable process. Silhouettes of the collection have been created from the deconstruction of the apron following the concept “cover to hide and cover to protect” with the purpose of finding an aesthetic balance between design and sustainability. Inspired in over 200 years of Salted Cod tradition running in the family, the textures, colors and patterns of the garments illustrate stories of working class artisans, gender, and the negative impact of the systematized food industry.
